A happy new year to all BPLO fans! Hot off the press is a recommendation from Alison Curtis of Today FM in The Irish Times' tips for 2009:
The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra are a seven-member band from all corners of Ireland, none of them named Brad. They cleverly released a beautiful festive song called December in time for Christmas, which I compared to Arcade Fire. I predict good things for them in 2009.
This Monday the BPLO gathered from the four corners of Ireland and entered the hallowed studios of Today FM to record a session for Paul Mcloone's "Green Room" slot. We had a great time, doing a job on "December", "Wake Up Screaming", "Summit", and a nostalgic cover of Bowie's "Five Years". You can hear the results on Wednesday December 17th between 7 and 10 pm on Today FM.
It's been a great week since the release of December. Both Paul McLoone and Alison Curtis of Today FM have been playing it loads - and they only got it on Tuesday December 2nd.
Anyway Paul himself has dubbed it 'Chamber Pop' - a new term that we're happy to claim for ourselves.

Great news is often provided by great people. Here are the details from the lovely Alan Owens of The Limerick Leader.
"Noel Hogan and Alan Jacques have combined to compile a new CD showcasing Limerick's finest musical talent. 'Tone List' will consist of tracks from some of the best new up and coming acts in the city as chosen by former member of The Cranberries Noel Hogan and Live 95FM DJ Alan Jacques.
"There are so many brilliant bands and solo artists doing great things musically in Limerick and the proof of that will be heard on 'Tone List' when it's released next year." said Hogan.
